Antonio Larosa (b. 1964) is a highly regarded designer, Professor and Chair of the Furniture Design department at the Savannah College of Art & Design.

Born and raised in Italy, Antonio "Tony" Larosa, studied architecture and design at the Milan Polytechnic University with design's masters such as Achille Castiglioni and Marco Zanuso. He attended many university classes/lectures with important architects and designers such as Ettore Sottsass, Andrea Branzi, the Alfa Romeo and Ferrari design teams, Aldo Rossi, Enzo Mari, Philippe Starck, Alessandro Mendini, and many others. In the mid 70es the leading Italian car magazine, Gente Motori, published an article about a new concept car (a very small city vehicle) designed by Antonio at the age of 12. Since then, Antonio has never stopped designing. In 1980 at the age of 16, he volunteered to help build homes for victims of a terrible earthquake near Naples, Italy. It was this experience that confirmed Antonio's decision to study architecture and design.

Antonio also studied city planning at the University of Calabria, and archaeology at the University of Milan. Following graduation (Doctor in Architecture degree) he moved to the United States working as a design consultant for several design companies before starting his own business as an independent designer/consultant. For the past 20 years he has worked on a wide range of projects from architecture and interior design, to furniture and product design, graphic design, and urban planning.

His past design projects included residential renovation in Venice, Rome, Manhattan, Phoenix, Long Island, a royal palace in the Middle East, and several farmhouses in Italy. He has designed interiors for medical and law offices, restaurants, resorts, clubs, churches, synagogues, commercial interiors for stores and showrooms, in Italy and the USA, including several on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
                                          
Tony Larosa has been a consultant for several major American and Italian manufacturers, showrooms, importers, design firms, design publications (companies such as Metropolis magazine, Merchandise Mart, Nicoletti Italia, Poltrona Frau, Gerber products division, DDC-Domus Design Collection, Michieli, Elite Manufacturing, Abitare il Tempo, Curvet, Cibic Assoc., InterDesign, Promosedia, ...). He has designed collections of furniture and accessories for the residential and commercial markets, manufactured in United States and Europe, and currently marketed and sold worldwide. His designs have been on display at internationally renown locations, such as the Vitra Design Museum and world class furniture shows (Milan, High Point, Verona, Tokio, Koln, Moscow, New York,...). In the mid-nineties, Antonio has been a manager for the Italian Trade Commission -an Italian government agency- where he was responsible for the development, promotion and marketing of Italian furnishings and design the United States, assisted and counseled US importers, designers, manufacturers on design trends.

For several years Antonio Larosa has been an adjunct faculty instructor of furniture design and interior design courses at Arizona State University and has previously taught in Italy. In the past ten years Antonio organized and coordinated some of the most successful trade shows and Italian design exhibits in the U.S., independently or for various organizations. He is still active in the trade show business working as a consultant for major Italian furnishing shows.

His work has been featured in publications from all over the world such as: Domus, Interior Design, Interni, Vogue, Contract Magazine, Design Journal, Furniture Today, Java, Desert Living, Home Fashion magazine, Il Giornale Promosedia, Giornale Dell' Arredamento, Club System International, Gente Motori, The Business Journal, Gap Casa, Die Tischlerfachrift, European Home & Garden, Taburet, Home Decor Buyer, Office Layout magazine,...

In 2006 Antonio Larosa was selected to be included in PHOENIX: 21st Century City, an international book series honoring the finest artists, designers and architects in new emerging cities (Phoenix, Berlin, and Moscow) by UK based publisher Booth-Clibbon.

Over the years his work has been also featured on national television shows such as MTV and Donald Trump's The Apprentice on NBC. Antonio's original and unique furniture designs (custom and production) has been used in some of the best interiors around the world. So far, his smallest project is a paper-towel holder sold in major U.S. department stores since 1994. The most enjoyable project was a Barbie Chair (Mattel/Vitra) Antonio designed for his daughter. The largest project is a four square mile archaeological park in Italy. He is actively involved in charity work for several organizations in the US.

Antonio splits his time between Savannah, Georgia, and Phoenix, Arizona.
